PLEASE COME JOIN US!!!
WHERE: Pierpoint Park (End of Anderson Street in Fergus)
WHEN: October 14th, Starting at 10AM until all trees are planted!
WHO: Contact Tyler Bredschneider at tbredschneider@gmail.com if you plan to volunteer!
Join us for a few hours of tree planting on Saturday, October 14th. We could use all the help we can get as we plant more than 200 trees at one of the river’s most used access points.
We will be planting a number of matured trees (2ft-3ft in height) which will assist in stopping further bank erosion but also more rapidly provide shade to the small tributary and groundwater running through the property. Maintaining cooler water temperatures at the upper stretch of the river not only helps the local trout habitat but helps to maintain water quality as the river makes it way towards Lake Erie!
If you want to volunteer you will need to do the following:
– Dress appropriately
– Bring work gloves (we will have a few spares)
– Boots would be a good idea
– Energy and laughter!
